Over the years I've had to deal with lots of medical professionals. Some good, some downright stupid! From intensive care nurses, leaving Frank, in a coma, on a cooling mattress overnight, to the point where, when I came in in the morning, he was convulsing from his temperature being too low, and it was only when a doctor happened to walk past his bed and heard my shrieks from behind the curtain, realized what was happening and told the nurse to get him off it and bring his temperature back up fast, to 2 occupational therapists that have dropped him on the floor or another physiotherapist who thought it would be a good idea (after I told her he couldn't do it) to get him on the floor to teach him how to get up on his own, luckily our son was home to pick him up!

I've changed GPs so many times because they prescribe medications for him that don't go with the ones he is already taking or prescribing meds that will raise his blood pressure knowing he's had a history of high blood pressure and has had a stroke caused by high blood pressure. Gps who won't listen, about 18 months ago the non stroke affected side (right) of his face dropped and was paralyzed, so we go to the Gp, she diagnoses bells palsy (Frank had bells palsy over 20 years ago), I questioned her diagnosis because I'd seen it before and this was different. She spoke to me like I was an idiot! So I did some research at home and found that mastoiditis has the same symptoms that he was suffering, so we went back armed with my printouts, she wasn't impressed and told me I was wrong, again! So I found another Gp in Newcastle who specialized in ears, he had 1 look and sent Frank straight to John Hunter hospital where he remained for over 2 weeks, on iv antibiotics and had a grommit inserted, then he came home with a pic line for another month because the infection was very close to his brain! That healed, or so we thought, about a year later it came back and he ended up back in hospital for another 2 weeks. The antibiotics he had has really affected him. He became violent, confused and insecure, he is almost over that but now he is having trouble with his mobility, I'm sure it 's caused by the Fluoroquinolone anibiotics they gave him, but the Drs won't admit it, all they do is send him to psychiatrists who prescribe drugs that will make him sleep all day! They cause more problems then just drug him to "fix" the problem! I don't get it! So I now have no faith in the medical system at all!!
